Going to be buying a new CPU fan in the next few weeks and I wanted to know which wpuld be the best for under $100.Best performing CPU fan?
Pick up a TRUE and be sure to lap it.Best performing CPU fan?
I Cant seem to find a True Brand anywhere?...
^that is right, get a TRUE (AKA Thermalright Ultra 120 eXtreme) with a decent fan, and lap it, 8with decent fan meaning scythe ultra kaze, panaflo H1/U1or sanyo denki san-ace

read my above post, its called the thermalright ultra 120 extreme, and i forgot to mention, the fans have to be 120x38 mm, since the TRUe needs high static pressure due to its fin density, also, don forget to check if your case is wide enough
Wow I feel stupid.. lol.Its out of stock on newegg, and it isnt on TD. =(
Don't lap the processor unless you're comfortable voiding your warranty..it helps with cooling but unless you're an overclocker w/ serious goals, no real point. As far as cooler, try the new Cooler Master V8, based on reviews, it's giving great performance @ a decent price (though, because of that, it's sold out at al ot of places). That is, if you're planning on overclocking even a lil bit. Otherwise, try this..i love the design, it's actually quite good @ running stock speeds and looks friggin' awesome if you have a clear side panel. Thermaltake SpinQ. (If you plan to overclock, might wanna go with something else.)

go to crazypc's website, theyl lap the cooler for ya for an extra, then just order the fan yourself, i repeat: scythe ultra kaze, sanyo denki san ace, delta, or a high speed panaflo in 120x38 mm size

wrong actually, it was up to about 6 monthes ago, there's a cheaper one that out performs it now but i can't rmember what it's called, i know the major difference to the thermalright is that the heatpipes contact directly with the processor heatspreader. Also i'm not sure how that one with the magnets which make the liquid move round the heatpipe circuit performs.
Delta fans are the best you can get performance wise but you'll want a fan controller to lower the RPM. If you want the best noise/performance ratio then Noctua fans are best.
Get a Xigmatek HDT S1283 its well within your budget at $36.99 hell it even comes with a $10 mail in rebate and its only a few degrees behind the TRUE, its an awesome cpu cooler at a great price and almost matches some of the best coolers around, I have 1 on my Phenom 9950BE and dang its made 1 hell of an improvement to my temps, lucky as im now stuck in my old generic xblade case and cooling is crap in there, if you dont believe me about the temps check out this review you give away like 2 and 3 degrees for less noise, so unless u gonna seriously overclock I mean like 1ghz or more over what your meant to have then its a good deal, someone on this forum (beefdog) runs 1 on Phenom 9950 and they got a good overclock (like 3.2/3.3 when standard is 2.6)
Markop, I believe you're referring to the Sunbeam Tech Core Contact Freezer. Which, might I add is an absolutely amazing heatsink.
Gigabyte G-Power 2 Pro is meant to be new and very good too if you can manage to find one, available december/january
This is what you are talking about? It looks pretty good.
