I am about to lose my mind.I recently upgraded from XP to Vista Home Premium 32bit.Before the upgrade, I was happily playing The Witcher EE, the Crysis demo, and Fary Cry 1.After I upgraded to Vista, I continued playing and beat Far Cry. I went back to The Witcher, and shortly after it started, the game would crash, sometimes with a Low Memory error. I tried the Crysis demo, which ran great under XP, and as soon as the level would try to display (after loading), the game would crash. I can still play Far Cry.From what I gathered, it was an issue with DX10. Fary Cry, of course, using the older dll's and still running great. Even if it is not DX10's fault, the problem appears to be software. So, I downloaded and installed the latested DX10. I downloaded and installed the latest CCC and drivers... no change. I downloaded all the Vista updates until it said it was up to date, no change. I also set my BIOS to fail-safe settings. Nothing.I am one step away from doing a clean install of Vista instead of my current upgrade, because something just appears to have been jumbled in the mix, but I don't want to mess with all the backups and reinstalls. Also, an issue with the ATI drivers. I downloaded Catalyst 8.9 drivers from 9/17 and appeared to have installed them correctly. Why does my driver version still say 8.530 from 8/20? Shouldn't it be 8.9 something? I find that very confusing. My GPU hovers around 70 degrees F at the desktop. Help!My computer:Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @3.00GHz2 GB DDR2 800ATI Radeon HD4850 HD4850, Vista, and DX10 - Please help!
install 8.8 and see if that works !!HD4850, Vista, and DX10 - Please help!
I installed 8.8, no change.I also reinstalled DX9c and tried playing under that, no change.Reinstalled the game, no change. This really sucks.

it seems you dont have enough memory so vista is closing the game to prevent vista from crashing itself... get another 2 gigs of ram.....
