Intel mobo and AMD CPU :|..........on-board video is enough until you can afford a real video card ditch that 8400 POS...........New Builder need advice!!! Please

Your board and CPU have to have the same socket type (Ex: LGA 775=LGA 775)



I would stay away from that video card cause you're wasting money, if you have money to spend get a 8800GTS Heres what i suggest:



Processor- Intel Core 2 Duo E8400

Motherboard- ASUS P5Q SE PLUS



And make sure your case and mother board are both ATX

[/QUOTE] Right click on the 'my computer' icon and select 'properties'. The first thing you should see is what Operating System you are running. This is assuming you are running some type of Windows, it could be different on other OS.
Just say what's your budget and someone here will help you configuring a good system.

Why only the 160HD?Be careful with your parts, and do not force. The part aren't fragile, but it can be frustrating if the hardware isn't fitting quite right and you can't take it out on the equipment.
What graphics card so you have? ANyway because you have 4GB's of RAM Vista will run as smooth as butter so get that for an OS.

Don't bother with the kids toys get a quad. Duals are past it now.
