Doesn't matter.Several cases, like mine, have the hard drive slots vertical. Which way do you put in an hdd, stickers facing you, or the circuts facing you?
In almost every case I've seen, the circuit board is facing the bottom of the case, unless the HD fits in on it's side (like mine)..

The standard is to put the circuits down as less dust will collect.
