Laptop turns on by itself?

Hey guys i dont know why but my laptop randomly turns on when im trying to sleep at night. Normally it only does it once and it will spin the disk drive and be on for about 5-20 seconds making beeping sounds too. Anyone familiar with this issue? I do always leave it on stand by and its an Acer Extensa 4420 windows Vista.
