What kind of performance gain should I be getting?

Current PC: P4 3,2ghz,1 Gb ram and ati 3850 512mb.I'm going to upgrade the cpu for the e4600,how many fps should I gain in games like COD4,5 and assasins creed?And what if I also upgraded to 2,5gb of ram?What kind of performance gain should I be getting?
That CPU upgrade will really help you out, but I need more info to be much help. What resolution and detail settings do you plan to run those games at? And definitely get the RAM. You want to have 2GB+ to be running those games.What kind of performance gain should I be getting?

I game at 1024x768,I can max out COD4 with about 40 fps,but can barely play COD5 at lowest settings.I'm deffinetly getting the RAM,it's going to have to wait a bit though.
Do you want to game at that low a resolution? You would really benefit from a video card upgrade too.

Well,my monitor supports up to 1280x1024,and I upgraded my vid card about a month ago,so that will have to wait :P.
Ehhh.. Well get the CPU and tell me how it works with that HD3850. That is holding you back almost as much as the CPU. I strongly recommend you sell it and buy a 9600gt or 9800gt.

Well,tbh I don't mind about maxing out games,medium settings are fine to me.I also don't want to spend much on the pc,as I'm already upgrading the cpu,ram and upgraded the vga about a month ago,that's why I want to know what kind of performance gain should I be getting.

I'm guessing you have an agp slot.You should see decent performance.I have a Sapphire agp 3850,2 gigs of ram and an AMD 4200x2 .Plays most games very well @1400x900.I can max UT3 play ,Far Cry2 and Cysis both @ medium settings.And it pretty much eats anything else at this point.You should be good for a while.
