Will Mobo Fit?

Sorry in advance if this is a dumb question...I'm thinking about purchasing an XFX Nvidia 750i SLI ATX Motherboard. In the specifications on Newegg, it says it is 12'' x 9.6''. The case I am going to buy, the Thermaltake V9 Black Edition, is 18.19'' x 8.19'' x 19.10''. Will the motherboard be able to fit in the case? I'm pretty sure that the case is just fine for the mobo, supporting ATX and all, but I want to be certain before I spend all my hard earned money. Also, does the motherboard support the Intel Core i7 920? I've heard that this is a great cpu for processor reliant games, and since I'm either using my computer for school or Flight Simulator X, I think this processor would fit me well. Will Mobo Fit?
Yes, it will fit fine. That motherboard will not work with any Core i7 processor. You should look at Intel X58 chipset motherboards. If you've got the budget its a great platform, but a bit overpriced at the moment. Will Mobo Fit?
Thanks. Should I wait a bit for prices to come down on the X58 mobos, or just go with a Intel Core 2 Quad on the XFX mobo?
They wont' drop price before a long long time but they will release CHEAP P58 in 2009 Q3 Rumour say Of X58 so downgraded product unless P58 is only for The Baby core i7 called Core i5 (5 core) instead of 8

Assuming I translated your writings correctly, I think I'm just gonna stay with the XFX mobo for now, and go with a quad core, until I can afford the newer mobos.
what iv mean is X58 won't drop price before age. they are gonna be 250-300$ still and for quality tough maybe some ecs / Biostar will manage to make them at 230$ but again. if you want quad core to be as good as a Dual core E8400 Overclocked you must get a Q9450 / Around and overclock Q6600 is behind E8400 overclocked in most of the round but people will disagree tough lot of Benchmark shown that
Yes it will fit, that is standard size of an ATX motherboard, as long as the case you pick specifies it will take ATX boards then your ok
and yeah most all case fit motherboard as long it not micro atx (small case) really uncommon
and yeah most all case fit motherboard as long it not micro atx (small case) really uncommon
Thats very true, most micro atx cases are the so called ''LAN BOXES'' or mini versions of normal cases, stay well away as it will cost you more for low profile stuff and cooling is horrendous in them cases and low profile selections suck.PS Nice looking case

I am currently on a Dual Core E8300. Would it not even be worth it then to go to a quad core just yet?

Yes, my current mobo is in micro atx form (Made the mistake of buying from dell), made sure the case supports supports both micro atx and atx incase i can't upgrade as soon as i plan. First thinkgs I plan on getting are the case, psu, and nicer video, then motherboard later.

One more question. If I buy a new motherboard, can I switch the cpu from my current motherboard to my new mobo? This is going to be my first time building a computer, and dont want to screw it up, and waste tons of money. Thanks for all the help from every body.
