Buying a new computer for Christmas.

Hey guys, I was planning on buying a new computer for Christmas. I'm not really comftorble in building my own PC but I was wondering what you guys thought of this.http://www.ibuypower.com/ibp/store/configurator.aspx?mid=224Buying a new computer for Christmas.
It's easier than it looks.Buying a new computer for Christmas.
Get a better GPU, and switch that q6600 for an e8400/e8500.
If money's not an issue, there's nothing wrong w/ having it custom built. However, you can save a good amount of money and/or guarantee better quality products if you built it yourself as you wouldn't be forced to choose from their selection. Anyway, i myself, prefer to build my own but i can understand it might be a bit over your head right now. So, if it was me, i'd look to configuring one @ Gamepc.com . I love their selection, good components and they have several options regarding how it's shipped to you..you can choose to build it yourself, you can choose to have it burn-in tested for stability, and you aren't forced to buy an OS from them which is always nice.
Get a better GPU, and switch that q6600 for an e8400/e8500.
No keep the Q6600, do not get a dual core. Dual core are finished. See GTAIV and to come ALAN WAKE.
Up your graphics card to the 9600GT 512MB atl least. 9500GT is not gamers card.

Hm is there really a big difference between the Q6600 and the E8500? On the website the E8500 is $5 more.

The Q6600 is lower clocked but has 2 more cores 4 in total. If you are wanting to future proof your CPU and get the best out of the new games to be released. The Quad is the only option. If you want a computer only to play older games then a dual is fine. The dual core is just showing it's age in new games like GTAIV and will continue to do so in 2009 for coming releases.
Get either the E8400 or E8500 for the best gaming performance in most games now, and in the next 1-2 years. See the speed that I have my E8400 at? (in my sig). My overclock is actually a fairly mild one compared to what many people do with these, and mine is screaming fast. It's not uncommon to see these chips over 4ghz with a decent cooler (less than 40 bucks, recommend arctic cooling freezer 7). The quads are nice, but won't necessarily give you your best bang-for-the-buck in the vast majority of games versus a very fast dual-core.
@gamepc.com ......sorry, but they are way over priced !*+
