Upgrading Dell Dimension 4700

Hey all. First time on this site btw just need some advice for my computer as the holidays are nearing.I have a Dell Dimension 4700, I bought it about 3 years ago and It's been workin great. I can play games like WoW Just fine and I've put some upgrades into it over the years. However now I wanna see if I can stretch my computer far enough to play games such as Fallout 3. I'm willing to upgrade it. Here are the specs so farIntel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80 GHz (I'm willing to upgrade)1.5 GB RAMWindows XPRADEON 9250 128MB (BLEGH ITS TERRIBLE)40GB Harddrive (yeah I've been meaning to upgrade it..)(if theres anything else you want me to post just ask.I'm wondering what affordable parts I can ask for christmas and my birthday which is about 2 months away. I'm wondering if it would be smarter to build a computer but honestly thats my last resort. I want this computer to stretch as far as it can go. The video card can use a PCI express x16 slot, x1, and 2 PCI slots. I'm wondering what I should upgrade and how much is needed to upgrade. And maybe what the cost is. Whether I should buy parts used or not.Keep in mind that my budget for this upgrade is 250 bucks all together. I'm poorer than a rock but I wanna find some way to have fun eh? You need a whole new rig.Upgrading Dell Dimension 4700
You need a whole new rig.
That would provide you with the most performance increase. But if you can only spend $250 then you still have several different options, but will not be unough to completely upgrade you pc. You really need to upgrade just about everything you have though. CPU and GPU ugprades will be alomost completely necessary, and you are in great need of a bigger hard drive. I'm sure you can upgrade your cpu and gpu for $250 but you won't be able to play latest games on high settings.
Well i guess not. here cpu and mobo: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4362088%26CatId=2417 Gpu: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4252544%26CatId=28And get a 2x1gb set of drr2 ram.
Yeah you could get that mobo and gpu then you could spend the rest of your cash on a second hard drive. Or if you don't have DDR2 RAM then you could spend it on new RAM.
